New Years Plans
Watching ND Basketball at 8 and getting my shit together for a job interview on Friday. I am super cool.
New Years is an overpriced letdown anyway. (So says I.)
And, it’d be nice if this job thing works out.

Don’t shut out the world. Because when you have to face it again, it hits you full force.

7 Points
Write a post telling your readers SEVEN things about yourself they are not very likely to know about you! (via, well, lots of people, but most directly here)
1. I am 5’10, and the “short kid” in my family. Even my little sister is now 6ft, making me the only sibling under said height. (My brothers are about 6’2ish and 6’4ish respectively.)
2. I usually read magazines back to front. If there’s...
My least favorite question
theengineer:
Where are you from?
It seems innocuous enough, right? Except when you have crazy parents who move every few years for some indiscernible reason. And when you are a person who somehow (read: because of a thorough discussion of lying in 4th grade CCD class) arrived at the decision that omitting any part of a story is a lie and therefore sinful, so you always feel compelled to give...

– F. Scott Fitzgerald, Crazy Sunday
Mom: I can't believe your brother is still asleep. You don't think he's dead or something?
Me: He is not dead!
Mom: Just yesterday he was making fun of everyone for sleeping in. He can't still be asleep. Go check on him.
Me: To see if he's dead?
Mom: Yeah.
Me: So what if he is dead? You want me to be the one to find him? You'll live with that?
Mom: Yes. Go check on him.
(He was not dead)

Applying advice from this article on writing by James Patrick Kelly to the design process. While it somewhat boils down to old advice (Don’t fall in love with your first idea) this is certainly something I need to remind myself constantly, and...
“Big Girls Don’t Cry” was just on the radio, and it took me until they identified the song to remember who sang it, and I realized that I had completely forgotten about Fergie. Wiped her existence from my mind.
It was a beautiful moment. However fleeting.

Okay, who are the assholes who wished for a White Christmas? I want names, I’m coming after you if I ever manage to dig myself out.
